Backlog Prioritization: The Art of Being a Decision Doula
Decision analysis is in every chapter of the BABOK; it’s an underlying competency and the business analyst role to help others make better decisions. This presentation provides a forum to learn from each other how an analyst can best facilitate the prioritization of a backlog. Be ready for an interactive session where we practice mock interview questions to ensure energy is focused on the most important work.

Topics covered include:
• Facilitating decisions is what we do
• Why we prioritize
• What’s a good decision?
• Defining success criteria
• Estimation methods and scales – an introduction

Presenter: Terrie Novak is the Principal with Concept Bridges, a publisher and small business in Tigard, Oregon. She has a degree in Physics and is CBAP and TOGAF certified. Her interests include the human element of decision making, and how analysis contributes to consumer-centric, sustainable solutions. Terrie is the author of HYPOTHESIS: An HVP Healing Experiment, and the upcoming 2019 book on choice making and intuition: Move Forward with Bias.
