Meet the Candidates
President - Nominee: Amy Lake
I offer over 25 years of experience in business analysis, program management, and business transformation, I have led cross-functional initiatives across both public and private sectors—including regulatory, environmental, and utility domains. My work has consistently applied IIBA-aligned best practices, including BPMN, SDLC methodologies, APQC frameworks, and change management principles to support strategic planning, technology modernization, and enterprise-wide process optimization.
My professional journey began in high-tech, where I worked in training and staffing and first learned the value of change management and lean manufacturing principles. I later relocated with an engineering team to develop technical training programs for clean room technicians supporting R&D technology releases. This evolved into a passion for organizing complex information through entity modeling to support greenfield cleanroom ramp-ups. I transitioned into professional contract writing and compliance monitoring for oscilloscope technology before moving into the storage area network industry. There, I served as a Client Engagement Manager at a startup, delivering custom training and scripting programs across the U.S. and Canada. Applying agile principles, I enhanced program efficiency and profitability, ultimately supporting the company’s acquisition by a major IT firm. Following that success, I moved into the energy sector, where I’ve spent the last 14 years in the Transmission space, helping modernize systems and processes through thoughtful SME engagement and strategic alignment.
I have long been passionate about advancing the profession of business analysis and fostering a thriving community of practice. I believe the Portland Metro Chapter plays a critical role in connecting analysts, promoting certification and career development, and serving as a local thought leadership hub. If elected, I am committed to upholding the duties of the President role as outlined in the Chapter’s bylaws, including representing the Chapter at the Annual General Meeting, facilitating alignment with IIBA’s global objectives, and ensuring effective governance in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
Treasurer - Nominee: Linda Stroeber
